Maui Dolphin Tour & Whale Search

Departs from Lahaina (Hawaii Ocean Rafting MALA Boat Ramp). Check in 30 minutes prior to the tour at 1223 Front Street, Lahaina. Tours may be canceled or rescheduled due to weather, operations or capacity.

Departure: MALA Boat Ramp. Due to temporary boarding location, guests will need to have mobility to walk on their own in order to safely board the boat.
We will take all guests to the departure location after check-in.

Some roads are closed in the area, give yourself extra time to find the location.

Parking:

Park near Lahaina Cannery Mall (Safeway Shopping Center) or Front Street and walk toward the ocean to Front Street, go south and over the bridge, the dive shop is on the right before the blue building. Some roads are closed in the area, give yourself extra time to find our temporary location.

Mobility required to board vessel unassisted.

Full refund requires 24 hours notice (72 hours for groups of 5+, 7 days for private charters). Tour subject to cancellation or reschedule due to weather or capacity.

Humpback whale searches occur only in November and April 15–May 15; whale season is officially December–April. Tour has no in-water portion. Vessel is low to the water and may have ocean spray. Tours may be canceled or rescheduled due to weather or capacity.

When are whales in Hawaii?

Whales (specifically Humpback Whales) are seen in Hawaii from October through June, with peak season being the winter months of December through April. The best months for whale watching in Hawaii are December through April, which the most whales in Maui during the months of January, February and March.

When are dolphins in Hawaii?

Dolphins stay in Hawaii year-round. They do not migrate and have made the Hawaiian islands their home.
We observe dolphin in the wild most frequently on our dolphin tours from May-November.

Do you guarantee wildlife sightings?

Due to marine animals being observed in the wild, sightings vary and are not guaranteed on our dolphin and whale search tours during our summer months.

Due to our group size limitations on some activities, we cannot absorb the cost of last minute cancellations. Coast Guard, County, and Insurance Agency regulations dictate the number of guests aboard each day. When you give us your credit card information to hold a reservation, you are agreeing to the following cancellation terms and conditions:

To receive a refund/reschedule you must cancel at least 24 hours in advance or 72 hours in advance for parties of 5 or more, private charters require 7 days notice.

Due to vessel style, no pregnant persons or children under 3 years old for whale/dolphin watching or 4 years old for snorkel tours. Due to the temporary boarding location, guests will need to have mobility to walk on their own in order to safely board the boat. It is the customer's responsibility to adhere to these guidelines. Refunds will not be given in cases of guidelines not being followed and guests will not be permitted to attend the tour.

Tour is subject to cancellation or reschedule due to weather or capacity.
Customers will also receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

If the cancellation notification is received less than the policy stated there will be a 100% cancellation fee charged to your credit card.

Late check-in and no-shows will be charged the full price. Our trips depart on time and we do not want to leave without you. Please expect traffic delays due to construction in Lahaina and plan travel accordingly.

A doctor's note is required for health related cancellations within the policy window.

Hawaii Ocean Rafting cancellation policy supersedes all previous credit card agreements you have with your credit card company.
