Private charters are ideal for families, friend groups, special occasions, and anyone looking for a more intimate and flexible ocean experience. We’ve been sharing Maui’s waters with visitors for over 30 years and can’t wait for you to feel like ohana.
If you have a group of family or friends looking for adventure and flexibility, a private charter is likely the best fit. For larger groups, a private charter is often more affordable per person than booking individual seats on a shared tour.
Private charters are also the best option if you want more space on the boat, the ability to adjust your itinerary on the fly, or if you’re planning drone filming over the ocean (federal airspace restrictions apply near humpback whales — our crew can guide you).
Our rigid-hull inflatable eco-rafts do not have restrooms onboard. However, our check-in location offers restroom facilities and purified water for all guests before departure. There are also restrooms nearby at Safeway and the Lahaina Cannery Mall.
Due to the adventurous nature of our vessels and ocean conditions, private charters are not recommended for guests who are pregnant or have back or neck injuries. All ages are welcome on private charters, including infants.
Please use rub-on reef-safe sunscreen only — no spray sunscreen is allowed onboard. For cancellations and refunds, please contact us at least 7 days prior to your scheduled tour.
Tours may occasionally be cancelled or rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. In those cases, we will contact you and issue a full refund.
Private charters can be booked for a variety of ocean activities:
During whale season (December–April), whale watching can be combined with snorkeling for a combo ocean rafting adventure.
Our private charters operate on an hourly rate that varies by vessel size and capacity. Smaller vessels offer a lower hourly price point, with rates increasing as boat capacity and size increase.
The charter price includes your captain, crew, and snorkel gear (for snorkel tours). Catering options are available as an upgrade, or you’re welcome to bring your own food and beverages onboard — we can provide a cooler and ice.
For larger groups, a private charter is often the more affordable option compared to booking individual seats on shared tours. Contact us and we’ll help you find the right experience for your budget.

The price of your private charter includes gratuity for the crew.
With the hourly base price of a private charter, the vessel’s captain and crew/naturalist are included to guide your adventure and share educational information about Maui and marine animals.
For our private snorkel tours in Maui, you will gear up in clean and sanitized high quality snorkel gear, including a mask, snorkel and fins and floatation devices like pool noodles, float belts and a giant floating lily pad.
For snorkel tours, we always have a captain and at least 2 PADI certified snorkel guides onboard to give snorkel instruction and act as in-water guides.
